Location

DunasVerdes villa is a unique house in a unique area. It’s located in the quite and beautiful green dunes country side of Vejer, Andalusia Spain. This area is indicated for being the location with the cleanest air of all Europe. The villa has impressive views on the natural park Las Marismas against the skyline dominated by the dunes and the shores of the North-African coastline and the Rif Mountains in Morocco.

We are at the beautiful ‘Costa de la Luz’ and a 10 minutes drive from Vejer de la Frontera, an Andalusian ‘white village’ with an ancient history of the Phoenicians, Romans and the Mores. Recently Vejer has been chosen as one of the ten most beautiful villages of Spain. It is famous for its Moorish architecture and a selection of restaurants with tapas and meals and Flamenco festivals.

Beaches

You are next (10-15 minutes drive) to the most pristine beaches of Spain – still untouched by the massive tourism- with names like Caños de Meca, El Palmar, Conil and Atlanterra. There, you may want to take a swim in the Atlantic waters with a view on the Moroccan Coast, enjoy the archaeological site of the Roman town Baelo Claudia and its impressive bay, walk in the dunes of La Breña natural park or just enjoy a Manzanilla sherry and tapas at a beach bar in Zahara de los Atunes.

Day Trips

Perfect day trips: you can visit Cádiz, the oldest town of Europe, or Jérez with its famous sherry bodega’s and horse events, visit the apes on Gibraltar or the marvelous grandeur of Seville. The Kasbah of Tanger is a day trip with the ferry from Tarifa. For Ocean life lovers there is the whale watching tours in the Street of Gibraltar departing from the same Tarifa’s harbor.

Flora and Fauna

Many visitors just stay at the villa, enjoying the pool with its impressive view on the river delta and the surrounding green dune mountains of what once used to be an inland sea. You will find a rich animal life with the rare meloncillo or local mongoose, foxes, and an impressive variety of migrating birds. A bird lover paradise to be observed from your terrace with storks, eagles, vultures, owls and even the rarest bird still breeding at the edge of Europe: the hermit ibis. The hermit ibis with its punk appearance was reintroduced in the area and now counts a population of about a hundred.

Golf Country Club Montenmedio

Montenmedio is located at only 3 minutes drive from Dunas Verdes villa. It is the most natural golf course in Europe with 6260 meters , 18 holes and par 72. It is surrounded by forests of wild olive trees, oaks, pines and not a single building affects its fairways and greens. Montenmedio offers stunning views over the Atlantic, white villages such as Vejer, Medina Sidonia and also over the African coast and Tangier.
